Oh oh, a new titina addict!
The first trials for the titina when katrina was 1 month old failed. Mommy tried desperatly to convince her to give up the organic titina and go for the commercial one. But Katrina was assileh, she wanted organic or nothing. She was nursing exclusively back then.
In the past few days, mommy thought that some of Katrina's vomitting ares due to the fact that she was looking for something to suck on, and she was given the bottle instead. And since she was overloaded, she returned the extra milk. So mommy tried the titina again. And it was too sucessful. Now katrina is an addict.
The pediatrician said she is not concerned about the vomitting. It is probably due to an air buble that is coming out, and taking a whole bunch of milk with her.
As for constipation, she prescribed Dark Karo syrup, and if it does not work, milk of magnesia.
Dark Karo syrup did not work, but mommy was amazed at how easily Katrina accepts different and weird flavors in her mouth. She welcomes anything that fills her stomach :)

Agggghhhhhh
This is the sound Katrina does when having a BM. Constipation is reaching its extreme. Barely once every 3 days, and poor Katrina suffers to get it done.
She is distributing more and more smiles. And they are getting larger. Today the smile came with a giggling sound. It was so cute.

November 03: updates
Katrina is throwing up a lot lately. Once or twice a day. Like a gag reflex when we try to feed her and she doesn't want to, or wants to burp, or chokes. She ejects everything. Ya di3an el cheghel :(
Everytime mommy and teta Mona go out, Katrina sleeps deeply in her stroller. Like she has it timed so well.

November 02
It has been a couple of weeks that Katrina got into some kind of sleeping schedule.
She goes her nath around 08PM. She eats after that then goes to bed around 10PM. She wakes up once in the middle of the night, and then again early morning. She sleeps right after eating/. She spends most of the first half of the day sleeping. She is awake most of the afternoon.
In a couple of instances, she slept 7 hours straight at night.
She started getting constipated. No more frequent bowel movements, but rather one every day, or every other day.
She is growing uo very fast. At birth, most of her clothes were too big for her. Now either they fit well, or they are too small.
She focuses on things very well, since her first days. She focuses on faces. Mommy feels she is talking to her with her eyes. When she is hungry, she looks at mommy and her eyes seems to tell her that she wants food. or she needs help burping.
She started smiling about a week ago. And few days ago, she made a sound that looked like 'ghghgh'. That made teta Mona very happy, since she has been teaching the nghh for quiet a while.

Playing music
Pulls on the ball attached to her swing, and triggers music to start. She does not start the music on purpose, but she enjoys it when it happens.
October 22
Mommy is trying to nurse again. All methods have been used, including Fenugreek. It worked at the end.
Katrina is back to nursing, and getting a supplement from the bottle.
Milia developped much more. Katrina's face and neck are full now. Daddy is waiting for milia to go to take the passport picture for her. He wants her to look pretty in the picture :)
Mommy sits on the swing outside with Katrina each afternoon. Katrina seems to enjoy swinging. She ends up sleeping quietly.

October 20: Katrina introduced successfully to the bottle
Mommy's infection and the benadryl she had to take due to the allergy she developped from the antibiotics dried up her milk. Katrina was introduced to the bottle that day. She had no problem taking it. Any food is welcome.
Daddy gave her her first nail cut. But it does not seem to be enough yet. She still has to wear the scratch mittens.
She keeps putting the scratch mittens in her hands, thinking they are food :)
She loves to look into mommy's eyes. She focuses for a long time. Mommy loves this bonding activity.
She startles a lot at sounds. She no longer startles when mommy touches her. She used to jump or arch back as soon as mommy tries to massage her back gently when nursing. She no longer does this. She knows now this is mommy.
She started distributing smiles.

Updates
Katrina is very strong. Not only she can hold her head up, she kicks with her feet so strongly. And when she stretches, there is no way you can get her to bend anymore.
October 15: 1 month visit to the pediatrician
Katrina is chocking much less.
Mommy tried the pacifier multiple times, but all were uncessfull. Katrina does not want that plastic thing. She prefers the natural organic thing when nursing :)
- Weight: 8 pounds 7 oz (3.827 kg) --> 25thpercentile
- Height: 21 inches --> 43rd percentile
- Head circumference: 14.49 inches --> 40th percentile.
She has few milia pimples on her face.

October 4
Mommy discovered she has a cellulitis. A serious staph infection. She started antibiotics. This caused some diarhea for Katrina. Other than that, she seemed to handle the infection and the treatement pretty well.
Updates
Katrina is back to sleeping in the car seat. This seems to be the most confortable for her.
She is nursing about 8 to 9 times a day. And having 4 to 5 bowel movements.
When she is crying for food, she calsm down as soon as mommy lays her down on the boppy pillow to nurse her. She seems to understand that that this position means that food is coming soon.

- 6 pounds, 14 ounces (3.118 kg). She gained more than one pound per day! à 11.4th percentile
- 20 inches à 50th percentile
She eats very well. Never refuses to nurse.
She typically wakes up every 3 hours to eat.

Katrina has a wheezing sound, and she chokes when nursing. Dr Ola was not concerned. She teached mommy what to do to avoid choking.
She uses nursing as a way to suck, instead of a pacifier. She spends a long time nursing, and goes into a deep sleep at the end. Mommy loves nursing her. She looks so cute and peaceful!
Katrina was sleeping 4 hours straight. But colics seem to have started; she is becoming fussy at night sometimes. And burping frequently. The good nights sleep are gone.
She is not much into the swadler. She releases her hands right after she is swaddled, this since she was born. She is really strong.
She likes to time her peeing and pooping while mommy is changing her :)
She seems to like the shower so far. She does not cry.
She is very easy going, cries very little. She barely complaints, even when mommy is cleaning her nose.
